In Rustles celebrates all small animals, first among them – the insects. The installation is comprised of 200 small sculptural units that merge into a giant swarm. The work is inspired by the rustles, droning, and buzzing produced by insects and other small creatures, and by how this multitude of sounds creates a sonorous carpet with a dominant presence. Using droning, rustles, and lights, the tiny sculptures become an orchestra – a giant buzzing body, and the dark rooms fills with a mesmerizing sonorous tapestry.
