Endurance

When do we, as a group, achieve cohesion? And when are we distinct individuals? How long can we stay as one unit before we fail ourselves? What are the limitations of the human voice?
These are the questions that the piece Endurance sets out to explore. Its performers endeavor to sound as one, singing the same note throughout the piece, and inevitably fail. This failure, and the use of simple musical means (glissando, producing overtones, singing in different octaves), expose microscopic sonoric realms, the hidden world of the single note.
