Aya Leon and Liel Fishbein met in the first year of their studies in Musrara while playing in the same ensemble. Since then they have been playing together for almost three years, within School and outside it.
Both are in constant search for the other sound, and the question what else can be derived from my instrument.
In the present encounter they strive to fuse their instruments together, to create one body composed of saxophone and drums assimilated into each other.
They try to break through the boundaries of the instrument through listening to the other instrument’s sound and its imitation, and testing how close one can get to the other’s world.
The work explores this possibility while giving room for the resonance of sonorous phenomena. It produces a dialogue of sound constructed as questions and answers, while searching for a perfect blend.
