The first sax-trio of Musrara – Naggar Multidisciplinary School embarked on its bizarre journey back in December of 2021. The trio was founded by Aya Lion – soprano and Niv Levy – soprano, who are third- and second- year students respectively. They bonded around their love for the gleaming instrument and their passion for exploring phenomena. After they were down to two, they were joined by Shoham Sakana Manela, and began to focus on mysterious and intriguing phenomena originating in the richness of the saxophone sound as well as the high intensities it can reach.

In their new short piece, they explore the encounter of sounds while moving in space and the mysterious effects of otoacoustic emissions on virgin ears, setting out to smash and shatter the smug cliché of the “sexy sax”.

The three never rest, together and separately. Each encounter holds an opportunity to give a voice to the epileptic monsters who did not survive the cruel evolutionary process and remained trapped inside the modern-day funnel-lamp, until the coming of the chosen three who dared to rub it. The wishes now make their way our way, dears.
