The video work merges the virtual with the real place. Using a QR code, visitors will receive a video tour that leads them from the gallery to the urban space, introducing questions about freedom of movement in the public sphere. The filmed tour guides visitors along the paths and streets of Musrara neighborhood on a journey between personal, historical, and fabricated memory. The work explores the mechanisms of memory, discovery and concealment and touches on questions pertaining the role of the tour guide, the viewer’s autonomy, freedom of movement, and the meaning of exploring the urban space.
