“Community Eyes” allows anyone to monitor and surveil while being monitored and surveilled. The participatory project provides a practical opportunity to experience in person the impact that surveillance cameras have on their viewers, the public and the public space. Combining the capabilities of surveillance technology with social media generates a participatory video surveillance system, allowing communities to monitor their neighborhood along with their neighbors. The same technology can be applied in a temporary community, such as the festival’s participants and visitors. Visit the app, subscribe, and you too can be both policemen and suspects!
