Nine Tomorrows | students, the New-Media and Music departments | Interactive Installation
Nine Tomorrows is an interactive sound piece that connects the world of digital sensors with physical musical instruments controlled by a computer. Various inputs are collected from the sensors, and create surprising sound sequences based on changes in the environment surrounding the work - be it by copying and mimicking reality, opposing and contrasting it, or offering an alternative interpretation to it. The work was created by students in parallel courses from two departments: students from the music department, who constructed the instruments and created the sound sequences used in the work, and students from the new media department, who created the interactive model and balanced between stimulation and reaction.
