waves | Lior Pinski and Tom Porat and Musica Nova | Sound installation and performance
A sound installation based on the works of the experimental composer Alvin Lucier "Music for Pure Waves, Bass Drums, and Acoustic Pendulums" and “I’m sitting in a room”. The installation is build out of orchestral drums played by sine waves and hanging balls, the elements movement is being capture in a CCTV mechanism that feeds itself constantly with its own feedback.
On the first evening of the festival (Tuesday) at 20:30, the members of the "Musica-Nova" ensemble will hold a special performance. They will play three pieces, The first piece, “Only dead fish” by Lior Pinsky, will comprise from the instruments of the installation and acoustic instruments played by Dan Weinstein (cello), Yoram Lachish (e. horn), Tal Ben Rei (Trombone) and Lior Pinsky (electronics). Also in the lineup is Tomer Damsky's piece for 8 voices and Luc Ferrari’s “Tautologos 3”.
