The "Planets" series turns ordinary natural phenomena, such as mineral growth or mold on cauliflower, into unearthly postcards from deep space, through the juxtaposition of macro photography, timelapse, and slow-motion. In PLANET A (2008), a saline desert covers hectares of dried out land where curious trees made of salt begin to appear. In PLANET Z (2011), plants and sticky mobile mold confront and provoke eachother in a war for survival. PLANET ∑ (2014) is completely frozen, until the awakening of volcanic activity warms up the planet and leads to an explosion of life.
